SENIOR PROGRAMS |
The Senior Member Training Program is a five-level structured training and
education program. Senior members prepare to fill leadership positions and
perform specific functions within each unit.
Senior members learn about flight and air navigation, public affairs and first aid. Initially, training includes aerospace concepts and moral leadership. Senior members may improve their skills through officer training and home study courses. These courses include: writing and speaking, principles of learning, and methods of managing and teaching. Of course, the senior members who are pilots may participate in the cadet flight orientation program (after being qualified), as well as in search and rescue operations. There is an extensive training program for all aspects of the search and rescue arm of CAP. From mission coordinators, administration officers and public affairs officers to mission pilots, observers and ground teams, everyone has to learn their specific duties. |
